Salesforce Security Update – Additional Verification Prompts

You may notice that Salesforce is now asking you to verify your identity more frequently when opening certain reports, dashboards, or exporting data.

This is the result of new security controls introduced by Salesforce to better protect sensitive data. These changes apply to all users, including those who sign in using Single Sign‑On (SSO). [Assigned t...Experience | Outlook]

What to expect

  • After signing in normally, you may occasionally be prompted to:
    • Enter a verification code
    • Approve a notification
    • Confirm your identity using another method
  • These prompts most commonly appear when:
    • Accessing reports or dashboards
    • Exporting data
    • Logging in from a new device or location

Why this is happening

Salesforce now requires additional identity verification for sensitive actions to reduce the risk of unauthorized access to data. [Assigned t...Experience | Outlook]

What you need to do

  • Simply follow the prompt to verify your identity when asked
  • Ensure your account has at least one verification method set up (such as a phone number or email)
  • If you are unable to complete the verification, contact the Help Desk for assistance

Important note

This is expected behavior and does not indicate a problem with your account or login.
